Renew Your Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) Coverage for Dentures (2025-2026)
If you rely on the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) for denture coverage, it’s important to renew your plan for the upcoming benefit period. Ensuring you complete the Canadian Dental Care Plan renewal process on time will help you avoid any gaps in coverage for your dentures and related services. Sullivan Denture Centre encourages all patients to stay informed and renew their coverage to continue receiving quality denture care.
Who Needs to Renew?
All current CDCP members receiving denture coverage must renew their plan annually to confirm continued eligibility. If you applied for the plan using your 2023 Notice of Assessment, you will need to renew for the 2025-2026 period after filing your 2024 tax return and receiving your Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
When and How to Renew
Starting in March 2025, CDCP members can begin the renewal process. You must first file your 2024 tax return and receive your Notice of Assessment from the CRA before submitting your renewal application. It is important to renew before June 1, 2025, to avoid a lapse in coverage.
You can renew your denture coverage through My Service Canada Account (MSCA) by logging in, navigating to the Canadian Dental Care Plan section, and selecting the renewal option. If you prefer to renew by phone, you can call the automated self-serve system at 1-833-537-4342. Those who require assistance can authorize a trusted person to help with the process or request alternative formats such as Braille or large print through the CDCP contact centre.
If you are a Sullivan Denture Centre patient and need help understanding your coverage or renewal process, our team is happy to assist.
What You Need to Renew
To complete your renewal, you will need to provide your Social Insurance Number (SIN), client number, and updated contact details, including your mailing and home address, marital status (if applicable), phone number, and email address. If you have other government dental coverage, you will need to list it as well. Additionally, both you and your spouse or common-law partner (if applicable) must have filed your 2024 tax return.
What to Expect After Renewal
Once your renewal is processed, you will receive a determination letter confirming your eligibility and coverage details. If there are changes to your co-payment level due to income adjustments, those will be reflected in your updated coverage. Your existing CDCP member card will remain valid, so no new card will be issued. If there are any updates to your denture coverage, inform Sullivan Denture Centre or your denturist to avoid unexpected charges.
Consequences of Not Renewing
If you do not renew before June 1, 2025, your CDCP denture coverage will end on June 30, 2025. If you no longer meet the eligibility requirements, your coverage will also be discontinued. If you miss the deadline, you can still renew later, but there will be a gap in coverage, and any denture services received during that time will not be covered or reimbursed retroactively.
Checking Your Renewal Status
You can check your renewal status through the online status checker, by calling the automated phone service, or by speaking to a live representative. If you need assistance, CDCP representatives are available Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM local time.
Final Reminder
Renewing your CDCP denture coverage is a simple but necessary step to maintaining access to essential oral health care. Completing the process early ensures uninterrupted benefits.
